Scott Oatley is a studio singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer with an undeniable knack for melody and style. His pure, strong and colorful voice has opened up the door to collaborations with some of the world’s most renowned musical artists, including Maroon 5, John Legend, Barbra Streisand, Dan Wilson, and Cynthia Erivo. Ever since his very first professional recording session at Capitol Records in 2008, Scott has enjoyed consistent work as a musician while learning from the very best in the Hollywood scene. As a vocalist, he has worked with A-list composers, including Michael Giacchino, Danny Elfman, Justin Hurwitz and John Debney. He has been a part of blockbuster soundtracks for films such as La La Land, Jurassic World, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to name a few, and has appeared on and off-camera for hit TV shows like Black-ish, The Voice and The Oscars.
In 2022, Scott graduated from Berklee College of Music’s inaugural Master’s program at BerkleeNYC where he specialized in Songwriting and Production. While in New York, he worked closely with his Grammy and Oscar-nominated friend, Will Wells (Imagine Dragons, Cynthia Erivo, Anthony Ramos). Scott has also enjoyed mentorship from two Grammy-winning producer legends, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins (Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Sam Smith) and Mike Elizondo (Encanto, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood).
As an artist, Scott has gained notable recognition for the songwriting prowess demonstrated through his solo project, Vân Scott. In 2021, he released his debut album Almost Gone and was later named the Grand Prize Winner of the USA Songwriting Competition for his single, “What’s Coming Next?” He has also seen notable success as a member of the alt-pop duo, Lord & Lady. His arrangement of the group’s “La La Land Medley'' exploded on YouTube in 2016, amassing almost 6 million views before eventually being featured at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games.
Scott currently resides in the Los Angeles area, but frequently visits New York and Nashville for writing and performance opportunities.
